WHERE TO?
The New York Mets are New York City's team in Major League Baseball's National League. The Mets, who are named after the 19th Century Metropolitans baseball club, carry the tradition of NL baseball started by the New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers, both of which left New York for California in 1957. Since debuting in 1962, the Mets have won two World Series titles. The Mets play their home games at Citi Field in Queens. It opened in 2009. The stadium, which replaced Shea Stadium - the Mets home for more than 40 years, is a modern ballpark with interior and exterior features reminiscent of past New York baseball parks Like Ebbets Field and the Polo Grounds. Among the many baseball stadium features Citi Field offers are a New York Mets Hall of Fame & Museum, a miniature wiffleball field, a Taste of the City food court, luxury suites, and massive LED screen and a giant Home Run Apple that rises whenever a Met hits a home run.
